जम्मू-कश्मीर में ठंड शुरू होने के साथ ही यहां तैनात क़रीब 70 हज़ार अतिरिक्त जवान कड़ाके की सर्दी से निपटने की तैयारी में हैं। जम्मू-कश्मीर से आर्टिकल 370 हटाने के दौरान से घाटी में अतिरिक्त सुरक्षा बल तैनात हैं। जवानों को ठंड से बचाने के लिए पूरा इंतजाम किया जा रहा है। इंडियन एक्सप्रेस की रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक क़रीब एक लाख बीस हज़ार से अधिक थर्मल इनर आइटम, क़रीब 60 हज़ार ज़्यादा जैकेट, स्लीपिंग बैग और कंबल, डेढ हज़ार से अधिक हीटर, 100 से ज़्यादा विशेष रूप से डिज़ाइन किए गए टॉयलेट, हजारों लीटर केरोसिन और टिन की चादर की व्यवस्था की जा रही है।
